Fun and interesting future birdhouses!!!
The American Swedish Historical Museum joined us to explain a little about Scandinavian explorers, Vikings, and how they explored the world. They saw a replica of Viking armor and the early navigational tools used to travel the seas. The children were able to build a Viking boat using recycled materials.
Creativity was in full force as the children enjoyed creating their own designs prior to painting on their canvas bags.
“Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure” took you upon a quest to find a “mythical gold stone.” The children were active participants in the search of this “gold stone,” while the performer integrated science experiments to enhance their exploration journey.
Keeping with the summer reading theme “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” the Center for Aquatic Sciences brought some very interesting sea creatures to our library. You will see that there was a shell of a sea turtle, jellyfish and a great horseshoe crab!!!

Our children had a great time enjoying the storytelling through music.
The children really enjoyed creating various sand art crafts at the library.
The weather was perfect for our Farm Friends, LLC program. As the event was held outside, it was similar to having a miniature petting zoo that included a pig, roosters, goats and rabbits. The children and adults all had an opportunity to pet the animals, as well as, give “belly” scratches to the pig.
