Jenkinson’s Aquarium introduced us to the world of penguins during our Penguin Pointers program. They are considered endangered species and we found out not all penguins like the cold. Each penguin has a unique set of colored beads that helps staff distinguish between individuals, determine their gender, and even their parentage. The penguin that visited us was Betty…named after Betty’s Bay in S. Africa. It was fascinating listening to the children who knew so much about the penguins.
